The Internet
With the ever increasing speeds available to connect to the Internet Companies are finding more and more ways of staying in touch whilst out on the road or working from home.

It is now possible to have remote workers running the same programs at the same speed as those based in the office. This allows data to be kept “live” and ensures data is saved correctly and more importantly backed up using the Server.

However, with the increasing use of the Internet comes its own problems. Viruses and Spy ware are prolific. Viruses can make entire networks unworkable and once infected are extremely time consuming and costly to remove. Spy ware is an ever increasing way that 3rd parties either try and steal secret information or just gather Marketing information and bombard you with SPAM.

All of these threats needs to be guarded against. We at Optima Systems have experience in a wide variety of products and can ensure the best one is installed on your system.

Email

Email is now used as a matter of course and people become frustrated if replies are not received quickly. With the advent of faster broadband connections it is possible for the user to collect their mail whilst out of the office. This can be done by forwarding email to a handheld device or a Laptop or by using the Server as a Mail Client.

Mail Servers can be configured so Users based within an organization can monitor the emails of those people on the road, off sick or just away on holiday. This can all be done from the users own desk without having to go to the other persons Desk.

In the same way that emails can be shared, both calendars and task lists can also be made available to selected users.
